About the Conference

BAMT’s 2026 conference, Music Therapy in a Changing Landscape, is an online 2-day conference

21st - 22nd November 2026

The ethos of this conference is to acknowledge, listen, connect and explore the challenges and opportunities for Music Therapy in an ever-changing landscape. We take time to come together as a community with professional integrity in open dialogue to share ideas, experiences and inspiration, sharing how Music Therapists’ practice is evolving across sectors.

Our vision is to provide an accessible, online space to hear from a diversity of voices, including new, experienced and international practitioners as well as from those with lived experience. We are pleased to continue with the new formats of presentations established in the BAMT2024 conference, and will have on-demand recordings available for up to 30 days for some presentations* following the online event.

*Please note that not all sessions will be available, only those where presenters have given permission to record. Details of these sessions will be shared prior to the start of the event on the conference programme.

Our Aims

  • Provide an accessible, online space which offers a variety of options for adaptations to meet accessibility needs (including on the platform and having access to on-demand recordings following the conclusion of the event).
  • To continue to proactively incorporate issues relating to Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging (EDIB), as well as highlighting that EDIB is embedded in all aspects of Music Therapy.
  • Provide a varied programme consisting of oral presentations, roundtables, workshops, world cafes, poster and pecha kucha presentations.
  • Create spaces to connect, network and engage in dialogue with other attendees, exhibitors and presenters.
  • Ensure there are consistent breaks throughout the day, to help manage intensive screen time throughout the conference.
  • Include creative uses of music online, using music as a thread to connect all attendees throughout the conference.
  • Provide access to on-demand recordings for presentations where permission has been given, and to communicate which sessions these are clearly to all delegates.
  • At a time of significant financial constraints throughout Music Therapy, to ensure we provide the most affordable, and best possible value for money for this conference.
